Let me start off by clearing the air.  I am not trying to come off as some snobby movie geek or uppity film connoisseur.  I am just an average ol’ dame who loves to watch movies.  Albeit, my friends think I have a very random (I say eclectic) selection of cinematic favorites.  My tastes in film run all over the genre map.  From 50s & 60s classics, action & adventure, cult classics, International, anime, comedy, to 80s teeny bopper movies…I like a little bit of everything (just like my taste in music)!

Over these past few weeks, I’ve been continuously watching movies from my Netflix queue, & that prompted me to want to write up this post.  This is probably more for my own self-pleasure than anything else, but I wanted to write up a list of my favorite movies just to see what pops up.  I’ve tried to explain a few of these movie titles with my husband (who’s also a big movie fan).  However, he is neither interested in, nor does he recognize, any movie that’s been produced before 1989.

Here, I present to you, a brief list of my cinematic favorites (in no particular order):

  • Battle Royale + Battle Royale II: Requiem (1st movie + the sequel)
